About the Blog

My name is Lynsey and this is my blog. It’s called “Dressed to Chill,” because I like wordplay and casual attire. I guess it’s supposed to be a metaphor for my laid back, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants life philosophy, or something.

I started this blog because I was an English major in college and I didn’t know what else to do when I graduated. I hated my job, had just gotten dumped, lived with my parents, and only had two friends in a forty mile radius, so I needed somewhere to complain about my quarterlife crisis. Now I don’t complain as much because I like my job, am happily single, live in an apartment I love, and have a small network of friends who live nearby in a city I think is pretty okay.

I also like writing this blog because of this quotation, which is something Kurt Vonnegut wrote in his novel Timequake about why writing is important:

“Still and all, why bother? Here’s my answer: Many people need desperately to receive this message: ‘I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people don’t care about them. You are not alone.'”

On this blog, I will rant, rave, and ramble. I should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Be sure to check out the Dressed to Chill addendum on Tumblr. The stuff I post there is sometimes funnier and always less TL;DR.

My header and social media icons were designed by Erin Flynn.
